      Our lifeblood

      _   New members are important,
          renewals are critical

If we are to maintain this association members must pay attention to membership expiration dates and renew their memberships timely.  Since Oct 1, 2007 we have gained 341 new members.  Since Nov 1, 2007 652 members have renewed.

In 2007 201 members allowed their membership to expire, in 2008 322 memberships expired, in 2009 228 memberships expired, 136 memberships expired in 2010, and 226 members were due to renew in 2011.  The 2011 expiration date is Dec 31, 2011, however, as in the past we will extend renewal to April 15, 2012 before removing people from active member status.
Simple math reveals that while we have gained 341 new members since 2007, we have lost 912 members through expirations since November 2007.  This is a loss of 571 members in 4 years.  Our total membership as of Sept 11, 2011 is 1,775; in November 2007 our total membership was approximately 2,400.
Since our sole source of income is membership dues and donations, renewals and new members’ dues are critical to the continued operation of the organization.  The web site and the Communicator are solely supported by this income.
Your expiration date is indicated on your membership card and on the address label of your Communicator.  On the membership card the expiration date is shown in the lower right hand corner as month/year (i.e. 09/2011); on the address label it will be shown in the following formats:
      Year  11-First Name, Last Name
                Address
                City, State, Zip Code
      or:
      Month/Year 0911-First Name, Last Name
                 Address
                 City, State, Zip Code
      or:
Life Member  LM-First Name, Last Name
                 Address
                 City, State, Zip Code

For those who make periodic or regular donations we appreciate your continued support. You can be assured that your donations are critical to the continued operation of this great organization.

-- Walt McLain, Director for Membership, Air Force Communicators and Air Traffic Controllers Association.
